Report of Ely City game against Melford by Gary Creak.
The Robins came into this match in fine form having beaten Brantham Athletic 3-0 the previous Saturday.
The team were without influential captain Louis Jenkins amongst others.
Melford also had former Robins striker Ryan Gibbs unavailable.
The game started with Melford on top as Ely took a while to get going.

Ely now started taking control of the game, there were a lot of players going down injured during the first period but in the 33rd minute a close range effort was turned in by Alex Kerr.
The score at half-time was 2-0 to Ely and the second period had most Robins fans wondering how many more goals there would be.
Melford had other ideas and limited Ely to a number of chances in which the post and crossbar were both hit.
Robins stopper Harry Sutton mate a few good stops and dealt with Melford's attempts comfortably.
Ely had a definite penalty turned down for a foul on Alex Theobald, the official giving no decision instead.
