A team from Ely City Golf Club won the final of the Goddard Cup which was played last Sunday at Saffron Walden Golf Club between the St Ives and Ely.
The cup, first played for in 2005, was presented by brothers John and Sam Goddard, both of Saffron Walden Golf Club. They were both County stalwarts for many years, winning many Cambridgeshire Area Golf Union championships between them.
The four morning foursomes finished with honours going to the St Ives club by 2.5 matches to 1.5.
The afternoon singles were a very one sided affair with strong wins which clinched the title for Ely.
