Members of Ely and Witchford's Tang Soo Do clubs have sealed another impressive year after competing in the World Championships. 

Instructors Master Robert and Master Gaynor Russell took seven competitors to the Tang Soo Do World Championships in Greensboro, South Carolina earlier this month. 

The renowned event, which drew over 1400 Tang Soo Do practitioners from around the globe, saw Team GB showcase exceptional skills and expertise to clinch multiple victories across forms, weapons, and sparring categories.

Forming part of national team, Ely and Witchford's William Dockerill, Greg Ozog, Jacub Ozog, Susie Morris, Rich Morris, Lucas Morris, and Nathan Morris clinched a number of impressive accolades against stiff competition. 

Students displayed exceptional sportsmanship and determination throughout the championship, earning admiration from family, friends, and fellow competitors.

Team GB's chief instructor Grandmaster Mujahid Khan said: "We are incredibly proud of our students for their outstanding performance at this year’s Tang Soo Do World Championships.

"Their hard work, dedication, and passion for Tang Soo Do has truly paid off, and we are thrilled to see them achieve such incredible success on the world stage.“

Team GB achieved a medal haul of 37 golds, 35 silvers, 48 bronzes and four grand champion cups from 64 competitors. 

The Witchford and Ely clubs amassed a total of one gold, five silvers and three bronzes. 

  • William Dockerill (blue belt) - gold in hyungs, silver in weapons and bronze in sparring;

  • Greg Ozog (senior red belt) - silver in weapons, silver in sparring and bronze in hyungs;

  • Jacub Ozog ( 2nd Dan black belt) - bronze in hyungs and bronze in sparring;

  • Susie Morris (senior brown belt) - silver in hyungs and silver in weapons;

  • Rich Morris ( senior orange belt) - silver in sparring and bronze in hyungs;

  • Lucas Morris (senior red belt) bronze in sparring.
