The annual Ely City Hockey Club tournament at the weekend was another "fantastic success".
A total of 14 teams from St Neots, Cambridge South, Cambridge City, Winnington, Old Suttonians and Ely City Hockey Club and one Stag Do team took part with games spread across both Saturday and Sunday.
Each mixed team of 11 had to have a minimum of five ladies on the pitch at any one time and social hockey with a twist of competitiveness was played.
At the end of the two days of play, teams Mane Event and Ely Swingers battled it out for the shield and after another draw they decided rather than deciding the winner with penalty flicks and in good tournament spirit that everyone was winner and the teams were named as joint shield winners.
In the battle for the Plate, The Ball Slappers and Old Suttonians also decided to share victory rather than go to penalty flicks.
"It was a great weekend of hockey enjoyed by all and well done to everyone who played," said Julia Gilbert.
