Isleham Youth United Girls under 10s have come back from a goal down to win the Cambridgeshire League Cup Final 2-1, defeating Coton Football Club.
In only their second season together as a team, the Isleham girls were treated to a first matchday final experience at Newmarket FC on May 20 and faced off against a Coton side they usually come unstuck against.
However, two magnificent goals fired Isleham into the lead before half time and in the second half, a Player of the Match performance by goalkeeper Lexi assured the victory and sparked jubilant scenes at the end of the game.
Coach Liam McDowell said: "This is an amazing result for these awesome girls who have worked so hard throughout the season.
"And a big occasion for Isleham Youth United as the girls have added a trophy to the club cabinet.
