Ely City Hockey Club almost enjoyed a clean sweep of weekend victories in the East League.
After seeing their previous match cancelled due to a frozen pitch, Ely men’s first team beat St Ives 2nds 5-3 in Division Two North West having controlled the second half.
Ely 2nds edged a six-goal thriller at St Neots 3rds as clinical finishing helped earn a 4-2 triumph in Division Four North West.
And it was success for Ely 3rds as Stuart Kirk starred in a 5-1 thrashing of St Neots 4ths in Division Five North West.
It is nine wins in Division Three North West for Ely’s ladies’ first team as they thumped Kettering 3rds 7-0 away from home.
Ely 2nds beat St Neots 4ths 3-0 in Division Four North West, while it was a losing couple of days for Ely 3rds.
On January 28, their first half resistance against Wisbech Town 3rds in Division Five North West was broken in a 3-0 defeat.
Then a day later, they were beaten 4-0 at home to Cambridge University 4ths.
