Four wins and a draw left Ely City Hockey Club feeling pleased with their weekend’s work in the East League.
The men’s first team thrashed Cambridge University 3rds 10-1 in Division Two North West on Saturday, Reece Laffar scoring four.
Ely 2nds were also triumphant, coming from behind to beat St Ives 4ths 3-2 in Division Four North West.
And in Division Five North West, Liam Goodson struck four times for Ely 3rds in their 5-0 victory at St Ives 5ths.
In the ladies’ section, Ely’s first team were involved in a dramatic 4-4 draw at St Neots 2nds in a battle of third versus second in Division Three North West.
Ely went ahead after going behind, before Ellie John salvaged the game inside the last five minutes.
Emily Underwood’s hat-trick helped Ely 2nds return to winning ways with a 3-0 success over Cambridge City 6ths in Division Four North West.
