Ely City prevented a run of five straight defeats in all competitions with a solid victory in Suffolk.
Goals from captain Ash Walter and Lawrence Mullins-Hammond ensured a 2-0 win at Eastern Counties Premier Division strugglers Kirkley & Pakefield on November 26.
The visitors were lucky to not go behind inside the opening 30 seconds when the home side headed over from close range.
But Walter did not disappoint when he nodded home for Ely, who gave chances to reserve players and new arrivals as regular first team names were missing, on 24 minutes.
A spell of second half pressure came for the Ely defence, who stood strong and doubled their lead through Mullins-Hammond.
Ely goalkeeper William Sarchet was called into action to preserve the clean sheet, as Luke McAvoy’s men host Sheringham on December 3, 3pm.
Ely City: Sarchet, Bowen, Munro, Cater, Hunt, Jenkins, Walter (C), Smith, Mullins-Hammond, Theobald, Hida.
