A fundraising supper has raised £240 for a charity supporting unpaid carers in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.
Inner Wheel in Ely held the event in aid of Caring Together during the former's November meeting which saw the charity's representative Zoe Bunter present a talk.
She outlined the charity’s efforts in assisting 27,000 people over the past year, ranging from children as young as four to individuals over 100.
Caring Together provides a variety of services, including a helpline and website offering advice.
Numerous support hubs, such as one at the Paradise Centre in Ely, host meetings for carers to receive guidance and share experiences.
The charity also arranges for emergency carer assistance, allowing carers to attend to their health needs.
The focus on young carers was highlighted, detailing trips organised by the charity, providing experiences such as beach outings and zoo visits.
These trips are often missed due to their parents' inability to take them.
President Carol Peacock expressed gratitude for the enlightening talk, and Ms Bunter distributed posters and information cards to raise awareness about the available support.
