A legendary folk hero will greet runners at this weekend's annual Hereward Relay & Ultra Race.

The cross-country race, following the Hereward Way from Peterborough to Ely, is set to take place on Sunday, November 24, and will feature actor and medieval re-enactor Rory G as Hereward the Wake.

Rory will rouse athletes at the starting line in Peterborough and make appearances along the route, including at West End Park in March from 10.30am.

Other prime viewing spots include The Dun Cow, Christchurch, and The Lamb & Flag, Welney.
