A Cambridgeshire recruitment company with a big heart is putting its community first after striking a partnership with a leading East of England charity.
Staff at Labour-Tech Recruitment, based in Ely, will be running half-marathons and holding a charity football match in support of Ormiston Families after signing up to a year-long fundraising partnership for 2025.
Launching in January, the partnership will see Labour-Tech raise money to support Ormiston Families’ work with children and families in areas including bereavement counselling, criminal justice and mental health support.
Kurtis Mpundu, director, is taking on the Cambridge Half Marathon alongside colleague Sigita Urboniene and said the partnership was a chance to make a difference in the local community.
“Our partnership with Ormiston Families reflects our commitment to supporting young people in our community during some of the most challenging times in their lives,” he said.

“This charity’s work resonates deeply with us because the support they provide to families -whether it’s through one-to-one support, coping with loss, or navigating other hardships - has a direct and meaningful impact locally.
“For me personally, this cause is particularly close to my heart, and we’re proud to contribute to their invaluable mission.”

As well as the half marathon fundraiser, Labour-Tech will also be holding a charity football match at Peterborough United next year.
Anya Bauly, philanthropy officer for Ormiston Families, said the charity was delighted to have Labour-Tech’s support.
“They’re a really passionate, dedicated team who genuinely care about making a positive difference to their community,” she said.
“Their enthusiasm for supporting us is inspiring and having the support of a well-respected, well-connected company like Labour-Tech is so valuable.
“Not only will they be raising funds to support children facing adversity, but also helping to raise awareness of people who aren’t given the platform to have a voice.”
