Remembrance Sunday

A Remembrance service was held in the St Andrew's Church. Joining the congregation were Maudie Manning and the Soham Singers.

Soham Community Group

On the morning of November 11, members of the Monday Club met at The Causeway Centre. Refreshments were served and at 11am, a two-minute silence was taken for Remembrance.

Claire White and mum Jean organised a craft morning making Christmas wreaths. Details of the forthcoming outing to the Downham Home and Garden Centre were given. Carol thanked everyone for donating prizes for the raffle, and also Andrew Fleet for the prizes for the bingo.

Birthday greetings were sung to John Howard who was presented with a basket of fruit.

Community Care Coffee  Morning

David Jaye welcomed everyone to the coffee morning in The Pavilion on November 12. Refreshments were served and David organised the raffle. New members always welcome, 9am to 11am, every Tuesday.

Comrades Club Bingo

It was eyes-down once again for the bingo enthusiasts at the Comrades Club November 12. 30 people attended. There was refreshment and a raffle. New members always welcome, doors open at 7pm.

Phoenix Club

Sheila Abbott welcomed members to the meeting in the Causeway Centre on November 13.

Sheila welcomed Harry Palmer who gave a talk on the building of the Millennium Tower in Bury St Edmunds in January 2002 which was completed in May 2005.

Sheila gave the vote-of-thanks. Refreshments were served and menus for the Christmas lunch on December 11 were handed out. Sheila and Kathy organised the raffle. The next meeting will be at the Cherry Tree on December 11.

Knit and Knatter

On the afternoon of November 22, members of the Knit and Knatter group met in the club room at Soham Bowls Club. 

Over 60s Club

Members of the club met in The Pavilion on November 15. Prior to the start of the meeting Molly Brown and Pam Hall took names and fees, completed menus for the members Christmas lunch at the Cherry Tree on December 2.

There was a Christmas quiz and refreshment were served, followed by the raffle.

Methodists News

Afternoon teas continue to be held in the church hall on the first Wednesday of each month. The final one for this year will be on November 27, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
