A Community Café in Sutton presented nearly £2,000 to two local charities at their Presentation Day on Wednesday, November 13.
Every six months, the Volunteers at Nellie’s Community Café choose two charities to support.
Since May, the café has been supporting The Poppy Appeal and Elysian Riding for the Disabled Association.
A cheque for £978 was presented to Jonathan and Hazel on behalf of Sutton and Mepal District Poppy Appeal.
Jonathan said: "Thank you to you all at Nellie's for raising this fabulous amount. All your hard work is very much appreciated by us and the Poppy Appeal."
Members of Elysian RDA received a cheque for £1,000.
Ros James, Group Coach said: "This is an amazing amount raised by Nellie's.
"We have plans to buy more equipment for our base at Old Tiger Stables in Soham and perhaps a shed to put things in – now not just a dream!
"The staff at Nellie’s café are wonderful and we really appreciate their support, we are so grateful."
The next two charities to receive Nellie’s support are Highfield Friends and Parents Association of Ely and Marie Curie.
Nellie’s Community Café is held on the second Wednesday and last Friday of each month at Scott Court, Pound Lane, Sutton from 10am – 2pm.
