A drink driver who flipped his car into a water-filled ditch in East Cambridgeshire has been jailed.
Edgaras Jucikas drank around four pints of beer before he got into his black Peugeot on June 14. His car left Westmoor Drove, Littleport, and flipped into a water-filled ditch shortly after.
A member of the public called Cambridgeshire Police after they witnessed Jucikas's car leave the road.
The 28-year-old, of Beck Row, Bury St Edmunds, was helped out of the ditch and given blankets.
When officers arrived at the scene, they carried out a roadside breath test where Jucikas blew 75, just over twice the legal limit of 35 microgrammes per 100ml of breath.
At Norwich Magistrates' Court on Monday, November 11, Jucikas was sentenced to three months in prison after pleading guilty to drink driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and failing to appear.
He was also disqualified from driving for four-and-a-half years.
PC Baillie Morgan-Heritage, who investigated, said: "Jucikas is extremely lucky to be here today.
"If it wasn't for a member of the public seeing his vehicle leave the road, he could've gone into the ditch without anyone knowing or being able to seek help.
"Drinking affects your reaction times, your vision and your ability to concentrate. As Jucikas demonstrated, drink drivers put their lives at risk by getting behind the wheel, not to mention the lives of other road users."
