A Suffolk housebuilder has sponsored FC Kennett's match-day shirts.

Ashberry Homes, which is constructing new homes at Lark's Place, Kennett Garden Village, has donated £860 to the club.

The funds have been used to purchase 16 shirts for the first team and 14 shirts for the under-12s.

The remaining money was used to buy bucket seats for new dugouts at the first-team pitch.

Neil Gilmore, chairman at FC Kennett, said: “We are only a relatively small club so rely on support from local businesses to allow us to carry on.

“This is the first time that our first team, which was only formed three years ago, has had sponsored shirts."

Georgia Smith, sales manager at Ashberry Homes, said: “When Neil approached us to ask for sponsorship for the club we were very happy to help out.

"FC Kennett is directly opposite our development and is a fantastic grassroots club run by a dedicated band of volunteers and they deserve all the support they can get."

Ashberry Homes is part of the Bellway Group, which is building 164 new homes at Lark’s Place.
