The Household Support Fund is now accessible for residents on low incomes in East Cambridgeshire.
East Cambridgeshire District Council says it is continuing to help those in need with this government fund, which is available until March 2025.
The fund is intended to support households struggling with costs, including food, energy bills, and other essential items.
The council can apply to the fund on behalf of residents, offering advice and support with applications.
District councillor Julia Huffer said: “This vital money is intended to provide a helping hand to those most in need this winter.

“It comes at critical time when we estimate many thousands of our residents will lose out on Winter Fuel Payments because they are no longer eligible.
“I would urge all residents in need of help and assistance with energy bills, food and essential items, to apply.”
Residents can seek assistance by calling: 01353 665555 or visiting the council offices Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm.
