Ely Folk Festival is set to host a promotional gig featuring acclaimed artists Heidi Talbot and Boo Hewerdine.

The concert, which takes place at the City of Ely Bowls Club on November 18, will showcase the talents of two of the UK's most respected folk musicians.

Heidi Talbot has shared the stage and recorded with an impressive roster of artists, including Mark Knopfler, Graham Coxon, Eddi Reader, and Jerry Douglas.

Her accolades include nominations for Folk Singer of the Year and Best Traditional Song by BBC Radio 2, as well as a win for Composer of the Year at the Scottish Traditional Music Awards in 2023.

The Sunday Times has praised her singing as "simply vocal heaven."

Boo Hewerdine, recognised as one of the UK’s finest singer-songwriters for over 30 years, has a similarly illustrious career.

From his time as lead singer of the band The Bible to his solo work and collaborations with Eddi Reader, Hewerdine's music has become a staple of the British folk scene.

He is also a patron of Ely Folk Festival, alongside Brooks Williams.

The duo will perform a mix of old and new songs, laced with humour and storytelling, promising an evening of delightful entertainment.

The forthcoming gig is part of Ely Folk Festival's ongoing commitment to promoting folk music and culture in the region.

Tickets for the event are priced at £14 in advance, and £16 at the door, provided they are still available.

Doors open at 7.30pm, with the music set to begin at 8pm.
