An East Cambridgeshire museum team hopes to raise £25,000 to fund the installation of a lift for access to its new upper floor, which will be used for exhibitions and talks.

Prickwillow Engine Museum CIO has raised £6,535 from donations, with the aim to make the museum more accessible to visitors and provide a space for community engagement.

Michael Penberth and Pauline Dunham set up the GoFundMe campaign four years ago on behalf of the museum.

They said: "Sincere thanks to all who donated to help us through lockdowns. Please keep those donations coming.

"Our next major project for which we are gathering funds (around £25,000 needed) is for a lift to provide access to our new upper floor area for those with limited mobility.

"We will offer this space for hire as well as hosting exhibitions and talks.

"Any contributions would greatly assist in this important project."

The museum is open Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 12-4pm.
