Initial tests carried out on a human bone found in a garden in Ely have confirmed its gender.
The bone was initially found in a garden in John Amner Close, off Lynn Road, on September 24.
A heavy police presence - including forensic tents - has remained at the scene since.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary have now completed their initial tests on DNA from the bone.
