Several towns and villages across East Cambridgeshire are set to be hit with weeks-long roadworks and closures.
Cambridgeshire County Council has begun its road surface treatment work scheme, which will see roads across the county resurfaced. The work is part of an £43m investment to improve the conditions of road networks.
Work will take place across Ely, Littleport, Haddenham and Sutton and could take up to 10 weeks in some areas. Here is the roadworks schedule for East Cambridgeshire.
Upcoming roadworks and closures in East Cambridgeshire
- Ely: Branch Bank will be under a full road closure while work takes place from 8am-6pm daily from September 9 for eight weeks
- Littleport: Lynn Road will be closed between 8pm and 6am every night from September 30 for five weeks
- Sutton: The B1381 Chain Causeway will be closed both day and night for 10 weeks from January 6, 2025 while work is carried out
- Perry Close in Haddenham will be shut for two days from September 27
- Bakery Close in Wilburton will be shut for one day on September 28
- Toates Close in Wilburton will be shut for one day on September 28
- Littlefield Close in Wilburton will be shut for one day on September 28
- Top Street in Stretham will be shut for two days from September 28 - a diversion route will be in place
- Ramsey Road in Ely will be shut from 9:30am until 2:30pm on September 29
- Larkfield Road in Ely will be shut for two days from 9:30am until 2:30pm on September 29
- Clay Way in Ely will be shut between 9:30am and 2:30pm on September 29
- Fairfield in Sutton will be shut for one day on September 30
- Snailwell Road, Palace Lane, Chippenham Road and The Green in Chippenham, Snailwell will be shut between 8am and 4p on November 11
- High Barns, New Barns Avenue, New Barnes Road in Ely will be shut between 9:30am and 2:30pm on November 12
- Main Street, Park Close and Gravel End in Coveney will be shut between 9:30am and 3:30pm for two days from November 13
