Tributes have poured in for the adored ginger cat, Teddy, who was often spotted around Ely.
Teddy sadly died on August 22 after allegedly being hit by a car. His owner, Hihine Lor, paid tribute to her furry friend on the Teddy of Ely Facebook page.
She said: "It breaks my heart to write this but Teddy has crossed the rainbow bridge…
"He was hit by a car this morning on Lisle lane and was most likely killed instantly by the look of the state of his tracker…
"Someone was kind enough to take him to the vet so that I could say my final goodbyes to him…
"I am heartbroken but I know he lived a good life and touched many with his cheekiness and friendliness."
Since Ms Lor's announcement, many have taken to the Teddy of Ely page to pay their respects to him.
Ms Lor would often keep people updated on Teddy's antics across Ely. He first caught the attention of Ely residents after he was spotted sitting near a statue of Garfield, a cat who loved the Ely Sainsburys store.
