Soham Community Group

Soham Community Group delighted its members on Monday, August 12, starting with a warm gathering at the Causeway Centre.

Volunteers served the expected refreshments while everyone cheered as the Causeway Singers entertained those in attendance.

In the true spirit of British cuisine, a lunch of fish, chips and peas was followed by a dessert of Lemon meringue pie and cream.

Special announcements included a heartfelt thanks to the committed members.

Carol Sennett expressed her gratitude for their weekly raffle contributions.

Mrs Joan Johnson and Mr Peter Cowling were praised for providing cakes, while Mr Andrew Fleet received special thanks for continually supplying prizes for the weekly bingo sessions.

The atmosphere brimmed with joy as birthday greetings were sung to Mary Howe.

In the spirit of friendly competition, bingo games, spearheaded by Peter Wells and assisted by Rosie Drage, brought this searing hot day to a close.

The day concluded with voluntary drivers taking members home.

Community Care Coffee Morning

The community spirit continued on Tuesday, August 13, with members gathering for the Community Care Coffee morning at the Fordham Scottsdale’s garden centre.

David Jaye and Roger Holliday received thanks for their sterling afternoon tea organisation.

Comrades Club

This day was rounded off with games of bingo at the Comrades Club.

The Phoenix Club expressed birthday wishes to Wendy Beeton on Wednesday, August 14 at the Scottsdales Garden centre.

The next meeting was announced for Wednesday, September 11 starting 10am sharp.

'Knit and Knatter' 

On Thursday August 16, 'Knit and Knatter' Club saw 16 members knitting scarves for local football players and creating items for charity at the Soham football club.

Over 60s Club

20 member of the Over 60s Club enjoyed an unforgettable outing on Friday, August 16.

The group journeyed to the Bure Valley Railway, taking in its rich history before embarking on a scenic train journey to Wroxham.

Gratitude was extended to Richard Badcock for his efforts in organising this exciting expedition.
