A family has set out their hopes to open new timber holiday lodges next to their “stunning” private lake.
The family run business, Waterside Lodges, already have six holiday lodges at New Farm, in Green End, Landbeach.
The owners of the site now want to build seven more lodges and have sent plans to South Cambridgeshire District Council to ask for permission.
Four of the new lodges are proposed to be the same as the existing lodges at the site; two are proposed to be “larger luxury lodges”; and one is proposed to be an “animal experience lodge” where guests will stay closer to the various animals who live at the site, which include alpacas, donkeys, goats and chickens.
The plans submitted by Waterside Lodges said: “The proposals seek to create a well designed development of additional holiday lodges on the site in which there is precedent for.
“The proposals have been sympathetic to the local surrounding countryside, but will also allow the applicant to expand their current business and cater for a wider variety of guests.
“The development is limited in scale so that the level of disturbance, traffic and noise will be at a minimum and therefore have no impact on the neighbouring property of the existing owners house.
“The applicant wishes to enhance and improve their site and provide more guests an opportunity to experience the stunning lake and surrounding Cambridgeshire countryside.”
