A successful family fun day is touted to become an annual event.
Hosted by the paediatric oncology team, the event aimed to get patients and their families active and interacting after long periods of in-hospital treatment.
60 attendees from across the region engaged in 20 diverse activities, including yoga, pilates, music, archery, football, and cooking.
These events were made possible thanks to collaborations with Cambridge Rugby Club, Stagecoach performing arts, Park Run, and Cambridge United Football Club.
Lead in-patient paediatric physiotherapist, Helen Starace, appreciated everyone who attended and contributed to the day.
She said: “Afterwards we asked people for feedback and had a wonderful response.
"Based on that, and comments made on the day, we are already planning to make it an annual event.
Ms Starace also praised volunteers, she said: “We cannot thank enough all those who gave up their own time to help our patients regain a bit confidence, have some exercise in entertaining ways, and do what children do best – have fun."
Plans are presently underway for next year's event.
