A1101 Littleport motorcyclist died at Addenbrooke's Hospital

Bradley Ladeinde, 38, died five days after the incident which happened on the A1101 at Bate's Drove on July 3, 2024. 

At the brief hearing to open his inquest, it was noted the motorcyclist had been transported to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. 

David Heming, the senior coroner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, said: “There had been a road traffic collision incident on July 3. 

“The deceased, following clinical assessments at the scene, survived those initial stages was transported to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for advanced clinical management.  

“Sadly, he died on July 8, 2024.” 

Mr Ladeinde’s inquest was opened last Thursday (July 18) at Peterborough Town Hall.  

A provisional cause of death was given as a form of traumatic brain injury caused by the road traffic incident.

Mr Heming said: “I adjourn the matter to a date to be fixed by a listing officer. 

“Inevitably, in an incident such as this there will be the need for investigation by the road policing unit and forensic collision investigation unit at Cambridgeshire Constabulary.  

“They will produce their report and that can often be a complex exercise. 

“We will have a better idea of the final dates of the hearing once we have had further liaison with the police on the timescales of completion of their investigation.” 

Following the incident, police said Mr Ladeinde was riding a Honda CBR motorbike and he crashed at around 4:20pm. 

He was from Greenhithe, in Kent. 

“I express my condolences and sympathies to the family of the deceased for their loss,” Mr Heming added.  

Cambridgeshire Police is also appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or may have dashcam footage, to contact the police on their website quoting incident 377 of July 3.
