A drink driver who was more than three times the limit when she caused a three-car collision in Milton has been disqualified from driving.
Marcela Knight was driving a red Nissan Leaf and on her way to pick up her children when she failed to break on the A10 near Milton Park and Ride on June 11 and drove into the back of another vehicle which then shunted a third car.
Knight, 43, of Pearson Close, Milton, blew 120 at the roadside, more than three times the legal limit of 35 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath.
She went on to provide an evidential reading of 94 in custody.
At Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday July 11, Knight was disqualified from driving for two years after pleading guilty to drink driving. She must also pay a £200 fine.
PC Ridgeway-Coulson said: “There is no excuse for drink driving and it is lucky that Knight didn’t injure herself or another road user that day.
“We urge motorists to report their concerns around drink and drug drivers across Cambridgeshire so we can make the roads safer for everyone.”
