An East Cambridgeshire woman nearly lost £5,000 to fraudsters earlier this week, but thankfully quick-thinking staff at her bank intervened and called police.
The woman, who is from Littleport, had taken a call from someone purporting to be a police officer.
He told the victim someone in London had tried to buy a computer using her details and she needed to go to her bank and withdraw some money for use in their investigation.
"Remember, we will never ask you for your bank details, your card or any money," said a spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
