A local 'Zumbathon' has raised vital funds for an Ely cancer support group.
Members of the community, local businesses and enthusiasts from 'Zumba with Nella' came together in aid of Oasis Ely Cancer Hub at the end of April.
Held at the Ely Paradise Centre, the two hour 'Zumbathon' raised £3,200 while creating an energetic and inclusive atmosphere.
Angels Arribas, founder and coordinator of Oasis Ely Cancer Hub, said: “I’m so very grateful to everyone’s enormous generosity, enthusiasm and support, especially to Nella and her amazing Zumba family.
"This money will make a huge difference to the on-going work at Oasis Ely Cancer Hub and means we can keep giving support and information to those dealing with cancer in our community.
"Oasis aims to raise awareness and create community support for those going through cancer and this Zumbathon 2024 has certainly sparked a wonderful collaboration - thank you very much everyone."
All the money raised has gone to support a vital local community group making a positive difference to the lives of those affected by cancer in Ely and its vicinity.
Oasis Ely Cancer Hub offers free support, information and well-being activities for anyone experiencing cancer in Ely and its surroundings, for both patients and carers.
It has been meeting and providing regular Friday sessions since January 2022 in Ely.
