A by-election is taking place in the city next week for a new Ely West Ward councillor.
On Thursday May 2, people will go to the polls within the West Ward to elect a new parish councillor.
The previous incumbent, Councillor Pip Gardner was elected to the post on May 4, 2023.
Voters will choose from three candidates to become one of six elected members for the West Ward.
Alfie Hiller (Labour), Jane Morgan (Independent), and Christine Whelan (Liberal Democrats) have been nominated for the parish election.
There are currently 15 members of The City of Ely Parish Council.
They hold a mayor making ceremony every year in May and the current Mayor is Cllr Chris Philips.
Ross David Trent was elected as the new district councillor for Ely West Ward following a by-election on April 18.
He took nearly half the votes (1125) in a decisive victory against Conservative challenger David Ambrose Smith (760), and Labour’s Adam Wilson (466).
Liberal Democrat William Novick was also elected to the city council, following a separate vote.
