Redrow South Midlands, a housing developer building homes across Cambridgeshire, has donated £1,000 to The Friends of Ely St John's School for a new library.
The donation was made as part of the developer's community fund initiative.
The £1,000 will be used to help purchase and install new books, furniture, displays and lighting to create a new space for all of the year groups to read in.
The school is planning to fill the space with classic and modern children's stories for all of the pupils to enjoy with the donation they received.
Karin Hegg, Chair at Friends of Ely St John's School, said: "We are extremely grateful for Redrow's wonderful donation.
"The new library will be enjoyed by pupils for years to come and will help nurture that all important love for reading at such a young age - thank you, Redrow!"
Andrew Newman, Head of Sales for Redrow South Midlands, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the local areas younger generations by supporting The Friends of Ely St John’s School.
