A man who broke a shop assistant’s nose while causing trouble in Tesco has been jailed.
Mohammed Quadi, 40, entered the store in Orchard Park, Cambridge, at about 8am on December 30 last year.
He approached the till and asked a member of the public to buy him some milk - a breach of his Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
Quadi then tried to take a bottle of wine, but a member of staff took it off him.
He became aggressive, punching the member of staff, pushing another to the ground and damaging several fixtures.
Police were called and officers arrested him in a nearby street.
Quadi, of Shakespeare Road, Bedford, made no comment in interview but later pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault by beating, criminal damage and breach of a CBO.
He was sentenced on Tuesday (19 March) to two years and nine months in prison.
DC Isobel Clegg, who investigated, said: “Quadi entered Tesco that day with the intent of causing trouble. He caused a lot of damage to the shop and broke an innocent person’s nose.
“I am pleased the courts have recognised he is a dangerous man and he’ll be off the streets of Cambridgeshire for a good length of time.”
