An event is taking place this weekend to raise money in honour of an 'Ely Tigers mum'.
The club's U-13 squad are taking on a 24-hour 'Bike-a-thon in memory of Sam Carford who died in 2023.
U-13's player Tom Carford and dad Dave have organised the event which takes place on March 16/17.
Under 13's coach Chris Holmes said: "On Saturday, starting at 1pm, my rugby team are undertaking a 24-hour bike-a-thon to raise money for two cancer charities.
"During 2023, one of the players tragically lost him mum to the disease, something that no person should have to go through, let alone a 13-year-old.
"We are doing this in honour of his mum, but also to honour the bravery our player has shown over the last seven months. If anyone would like to donate it would be greatly appreciated.
"During the event the clubhouse will be open so please come and show you support."
The event takes place from 1pm on Saturday till 1pm on Sunday.
If you would like to donate, there is a fundraising page at: https://www.justgiving.com/team/elytigersu13.
