Cambridgeshire County Council managed to give out over 23,000 supermarket vouchers in February half-term to families in need across the county.
23,288 vouchers, with a value of £15, were emailed or texted to families at the beginning of the half-term holiday.
The vouchers could be used across 11 different supermarkets.
Cambridgeshire County Council recently voted to invest £3m of its own money to continue the holiday supermarket voucher scheme across the county.
In a survey conducted on families receiving the supermarket vouchers, 86 per cent of families said that the vouchers had helped them cope with the cost of living crisis.
74 per cent of responses said that the scheme had reduced the need for them to seek other sources of support during half-term, such as food banks.
Cllr Bryony Goodliffe, Chair of the Children and Young People’s Committee said: “The supermarket voucher scheme has been a lifeline to many families since it started."
Committee Vice-Chair Cllr Michael Atkins added: “This current, and ongoing, funding is vital to help those most in need."
