A woman in her 40s was hospitalised after she was found by the side of a Cambridgeshire road with serious injuries.
She was found in a ditch in Beach Road, Cottenham, just after midnight on February 12.
She had gone out for a walk earlier in the evening at around 6pm on February 11.
The woman remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Cambridgeshire Police are now appealing for witnesses.
PC Alex Bond said: “We believe the victim was involved in a collision but the vehicle didn’t stop at the scene.
“It was dark at the time so the driver may not have known they hit someone.
“I am asking anyone who was driving along that stretch of road yesterday evening to please get in touch if they saw anything or have dashcam footage from the area.”
