An air cadet from 1094 Ely Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets met Princess Anne at the official opening of Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue’s new training centre in Huntingdon on November 29.
As part of his duties as the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for Cambridgeshire, Cadet Warrant Officer James Munday accompanied the Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Julie Spence, in greeting Princess Anne and going on a tour of the newly built site.
The tour included demonstrations by the firefighters and training centre instructors performing road traffic collision drills and various rescues of both people and animals.
Her Royal Highness also enjoyed an exhibition of art created by students from local schools for the centres conference rooms, as well as speaking with local trainee firefighters.
After the tour concluded, Her Royal Highness unveiled a plaque to commemorate the official opening and she gave a speech congratulating those in attendance and all those who worked on the project, expressing how much she enjoyed her visit.
