At their November meeting, the Ely Inner Wheel Club welcomed speaker Kate Lancaster who is president of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Kate told members about the many aspects of the work of the college. The college liaises with the UK government on matters related to obstetrics and gynaecology and publishes clinical guidelines for the UK.
The college's museum has an interesting, if slightly gruesome, display of birthing instruments from the past.
Following the talk there was a buffet and raffle to raise money for the charity Homestart.
