21 archers from Ely Archers shot and took 15 individual medals and a team medal at a prestigious competition. 

The 14th annual Portsmouth contest took place at Littleport Leisure Centre on Saturday November 18.

A ‘Portsmouth’ is a round of five dozen arrows at 20 yards.

Competitors, all members of the national governing body, Archery GB, came from Norfolk, Suffolk, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and Cambridgeshire.

Ely Standard:

The club also raised money for Littleport charity Branching Out with a raffle and cake stall.

Referee Katy Lipscomb, a top international judge and off to chair the judging at the next Olympics, said: “Thank you to all the club member volunteers who helped set up, who helped on the day, and took the targets and stands back down. We couldn’t have done it without you.”
