A drug dealer who drew attention to himself by failing to give way to a police car has been jailed.
Officers were on patrol in Cambridge when Gazmir Haxhia pulled out in front of them on Chieftain Way on October 7.
Haxhia, 29, of no fixed address, was stopped shortly after in the Vauxhall Zafira and checks revealed he didn’t have a licence or insurance.
Two phones inside the vehicle continued to ring which raised further suspicion and led to the discovery of 14 bags of cocaine and £240 in cash.
At Peterborough Crown Court on November 7, Haxhia was sentenced to two years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to driving without a licence, driving without insurance, acquiring criminal property and possession with intent to supply cocaine.
Detective Constable Katie Rowberry said: “Officers are actively on patrol looking for anything out of the ordinary and on October 7 Haxhia raised their suspicions.
“Following his careless driving they pulled him over and discovered not only was he driving illegally but he was dealing drugs too.”
