Swimmers from the City of Ely Amateur Swimming Club (ASC) have lifted the Senior Fenland League Trophy after storming the final with 24 first-place finishes out of 43 races.
This was the first time the Senior Fenland League has run since 2019 because of Covid, and the 19 Ely swimmers ensured it was a meet to remember.
City of Ely ASC hosted the final at Newmarket on September 9 and were up against the March Marlins, Wisebch, St Ives, St Neots and Mildenhall swimming clubs.
The Ely swimmers secured 24 first place, nine-second place and four third place finishes out of 43 races, meaning in only six of the races, the club finished outside the top three.
The atmosphere was filled with cheering and fantastic support as City of Ely racked up 220 points, 44 points ahead of second-placed March Marlins (176) and 49 points ahead of St Ives in third (171).
