A new superintendent minister for the Ely and Newmarket Methodist Church circuit has been appointed.
The Rev Catherine Dixon was welcomed during a service at Ely Methodist Church on September 3.
Rev Dixon is not new to the area and has been serving here since 2019, but has now taken on the role of leadership and oversight.
Among those present at the service to offer a word of welcome and
support were Councillor Chris Phillips, mayor of Ely, and the Very Rev Mark Bonney, Dean of Ely Cathedral.
Although admitting she was apprehensive about the additional responsibilities of the role, Rev Dixon said during the service that she was looking forward to working with Methodists and ecumenical partners in the area, and remains committed to being present in community life in Ely.
