GCSE Results 2023: Cottenham Village College celebrations

Year 11 students across Cambridgeshire sat the exams in May and June, and are getting results today which will help set their course for the future.

This is the second year that exams have taken place as normal, but schools across the country are still dealing with the impact of the pandemic.

Staff Cottenham Village College, part of Astrea Academy Trust, supported their students to prepare for exams, including additional lessons and masterclasses.

Theo Macon has achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 8 and will be heading to Hills Road Sixth Form College  to study physics, chemistry and maths.

Amelia Ford has achieved eight grade 9s, and one grade 8, and will be studying English literature, history and maths at Hills Road Sixth Form College.

Zoe Andrews, principal of Cottenham Village College, said: “The students at Cottenham Village College should be incredibly proud of the results that we’ve achieved at the college this year.

"We’re delighted to see so many happy faces today as our students have what they need to take their next step in post-16 studies, with many students heading off to sixth form provisions in Cambridge.

"Thank you to the staff for their commitment to support the students and to our parent body for their support.  A huge well done to all our students.”
