Congratulations have been given to Ely Squadron's cadet warrant officer James Munday who has been appointed as the Lord Lieutenant's cadet for Cambridgeshire.
James joined the Ely Squadron in 2018 and has fully embraced the air cadet experience, having achieved his First Class Cadet, Leading Cadet, Senior Cadet and Master Cadet classification.
He rose through the ranks of corporal, sergeant, flight sergeant, and was recently appointed as a cadet warrant officer.
James earned his parachute wings and his solo pilot's wings on the RAF's Viking T1 glider, and he is currently waiting to start his air cadet pilot scholarship to fly powered aircraft solo.
In May, he attended a Buckingham Palace Garden Party with his parents, where he was presented with his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award by Edward The Duke of Edinburgh.
As a Lord Lieutenant's cadet James will be assisting Julie Spence on all the royal family's visits to Cambridgeshire this year.
"Congratulations to James on this crowning achievement to your cadet career, we know that you won't be resting on your laurels, and we look forward to reading about your royal duties as the year unfolds," said John Donoghue, flight lieutenant RAFAC.
