An inquest has opened into the death of a motorcyclist who died in a crash on the A142 at Witcham Toll.
Ian Parnell, 57, was travelling west towards Mepal on May 20 when he struck another vehicle and died at the scene.
Simon Milburn, the area coroner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, conducted the hearing at Peterborough Town Hall this afternoon (June 15).
He explained Mr Parnell’s cause of death was given as “1A multiple traumatic injuries” following a post mortem examination at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge.
The inquest was then adjourned for a future date to be announced.
Mr Parnell was from Outwell, near Wisbech.

Luke Davidson, from Mepal, is due to appear at Cambridge Crown Court in connection with the crash.
The 19-year-old has been charged with causing death by careless driving, causing death by dangerous driving whilst uninsured and causing death by driving whilst disqualified.
