Poets compete for the Tedora Cup

Poets are competing for the Tedora Cup at St Andrew's Church, in Witchford, on June 13.

This will be 'An Evening of Music and Poetry’ and starts at 7pm. The competition has been initiated by Sheila Read, a member of the Tedora family, who donated the cup for an annual competition.

The theme this year is ‘change’ or changes’ and some of the poems will be read during the concert.

They range from the very serious to the highly amusing and some of the titles include Greyhound, The Company of Little Boats, Wash Day Blues, Losing me to Dementia, It never used to be like this and Womenpause.

The winners will be announced during the evening. Music will be provided by the Isle Singers’ Ensemble.

Refreshments will be provided. It is free to enter, although there will be a retiring collection. All welcome.
