A display of crafted green hearts has been created by the City of Ely Women’s Institute to raise awareness of climate change.
The Women's Institute (WI) is a founding member of The Climate Coalition which lobbies politicians, urging them to prioritise protecting the planet.
The coalition will be holding its #showthelove campaign throughout February, and WI members have knitted, drawn, sewn and crocheted the hearts to highlight the issue.
Displays have been arranged outside Sessions House, in Lynn Road, and inside Ely Library Foyer.
A spokesperson for Ely City WI said: “Learning more about the climate crisis and knowing what we can do to help to protect our natural world and our children’s futures is a priority.
“Small things can really make a big difference and by creating the displays we hope to ignite conversations and action.”
The group’s next meeting is on February 13 and is titled “Everybody has a story to tell”.
There will be a jewellery sale and a baked heart shaped biscuit competition.
City of Ely WI meet at 7:15pm at The Old Dispensary, St Mary’s Street, Ely, CB7 4ER.
