A paramedic will appear before a tribunal next month after being convicted of making indecent images of a child.
Andrew Weston, 38, was found to have made 10 images that were deemed Category A, B and C in their nature.
Category A is the most serious kind.
He was sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for 18 months, at Peterborough Crown Court in July of last year.
Weston, of Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, had been sacked from the East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) before his appearances in court.
It is understood he worked out of Ely, Cambridgeshire, but this has not been confirmed by the trust.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the EAAST said: “Andrew Weston was dismissed from service as a paramedic with EEAST in September 2021 following allegations about his fitness to practise.
“A final hearing in front of the Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service’s Conduct Committee will be held on February 13, 2023 and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
The extent of Weston's convictions - from when he initially appeared at Peterborough Magistrates Court - are outlined in an overview of the tribunal hearing.
It says: “As a registered paramedic your fitness to practise is impaired by reason of your conviction. In that:
“1. On 4 March 2022, at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court you were convicted of making indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child, namely five images of Category A, contrary to sections 1(1)(a) and 6 of the Protection of Children Act 1978.
“2. On 4 March 2022, at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court you were convicted of making indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child, namely one image of Category B, contrary to sections 1(1)(a) and 6 of the Protection of Children Act 1978.
“3. On 4 March 2022, at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court you were convicted of making indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child, namely four images of Category C, contrary to sections 1(1)(a) and 6 of the Protection of Children Act 1978.”
It ends: "4. By reason of your conviction, your fitness to practise is impaired."
The final tribunal hearing will be held virtually.
When Weston was sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court on July 15, he was also handed a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement and 120 hours of unpaid work.
A Sexual Harm Prevention Order was put in place for seven years.
This latest case comes just over a year after another paramedic was struck off for raping a patient and sexually assaulting another in an ambulance when he worked for the EEAST.
Andrew Wheeler, of Warboys, had been convicted of six sexual offences and handed a 21-year prison sentence.
