A record turnout for Ely & District Cycling Club aimed to bring back Eastern Cyclocross League success on a new course.
Twelve riders took on the West Stow course created by West Suffolk Wheelers on November 5, when junior cyclists Lucas Bowman and Harvey Woodroffe finished 16th and 11th respectively in the under 14 race.
Tom Lewis was in third spot for much of the under 16 contest, but a smart move from rival Oliver Beale of Welwyn Wheelers saw the Ely rider finish fourth.
In the same race, Kieran Vanhoutte came 14th.
Four Ely members rode in the V40 category, Simon Butteriss came in 47th, one place behind teammate Martin Lewis.
Rory Havis crossed in 33rd and Ferenc Vanhoutte three places further back.
Neil Bowman shone in 15th in the V50+ race, while John McAndrew also impressed.
In the senior/junior category, Isaac Barton came 10th in the junior race and Joshua Woodroffe was 37th for the seniors.
