A SCHOOL teacher accused of possessing hundreds of pornographic images involving children is now facing extra charges.

A month ago Philip Scott appeared before Ely magistrates facing nine charges involving child pornography, and two relating to extreme pornographic images of animals.

This week 43-year-old Scott was back before the court, where a further five charges relating to child pornography were put before the magistrates, along with an extra charge involving extreme images of animals .

Scott, 43, of Black horse Drove, Littleport, is currently suspended from his job as a teacher at the Springwood High School in King’s Lynn.

He did not enter pleas before the court on Thursday, and magistrates declined jurisdiction over the case. Scott is due to be committed to Cambridge Crown Court at a hearing in the city courthouse on July 29.

Scott faces a total of seven charges of possessing child pornography, both moving and still images, and seven charges of making an indecent image of a child.

The Copine scale is used to rate the severity of child pornography, from level one to five, with level five being the most severe.

Scott’s charges involve images from level one to four. The three charges involving extreme pornography images relate to images of adults with animals, including dogs and horses.
