A teenager was spotted in Parsons Lane, Littleport, with what appeared to be a potential offensive weapon on April 17.
However, after Cambridgeshire Police recovered the item, it transpired that it was a wooden painted prop from a re-enactment.
The force has confirmed that it will be making contact with the teenager and their family.
